SCROLL WITH 7 SEALS
THE SCROLL WITH SEVEN SEALS IN REVELATION 5
Before we go any further we want to emphasise that the One on the throne is the Triune God, the Trinity, One God in three Persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. All three Persons will act as we read through these verses. We will point this out when we get there.
Revelation 5:1 “I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a book written inside and on the back, sealed up with seven seals.”
The scroll, like the scroll pictured below, had seven seals place on different section of importance and they had to be opened one by one by a person worthy to open the seals of the scroll. The Judgements written in this scroll are God’s judgements on a sinful world.
The voice of the strong angel asked in Revelation 5:2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the book and to break its seals?”
Revelation 5:3 tells us “And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the book or to look into it.”
That made John weep. One of the elders told him to stop weeping in Revelation 5:5 “and one of the elders *said to me, “Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals.”
The only person worthy to open the scroll and its seals is the person that had victoriously conquered sin and that Person is Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, the Lion of Judah.
Here we see Jesus as Lion of Judah and the Lamb of God. In verse 5 we see Jesus as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, of the Root of David. Genesis 49:9 :“JUDAH is a LION’S WELP; From the prey, my son, you have gone up. He couches, he lies down as a lion, And as a LION, who dares rouse him up? ”
Genesis 49:10 “The SCEPTER shall NOT depart from JUDAH, Nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet,
UNTIL Shiloh comes, And to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.” Shiloh means the RULER that is to come and to Him will be the obedience of the people.
That future ruler is the MESSIAH, Jesus Christ as LION OF JUDAH, KING OF KINGS. The scepter will depart to Him for ever.
In verse 6 we see Jesus as the Lamb of God. As if slain, when He died on the Cross, but rose again as the victorious Lamb of God. The seven horns portray his perfect authority over all creation and the seven eyes portray the OMNISCIENCE of God as the Holy Spirit is everywhere at every moment.
As Lion of Judah and Lamb of God, Jesus, the Son of God, has victory of sin, death and Satan.
REMEMBER VERY CAREFULLY: Jesus AS the SON OF MAN is from the linage of the tribe of Judah through Mary as His mother and through Joseph His stepfather, His legal and earthly father.
Jesus AS the SON OF GOD is NOT from the linage of Judah because He is eternally GOD eternally begotten of the Father, thus has no beginning and no end. He is eternally a distinct Person of the Trinity with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. They are three DISTINCT Persons of the Trinity in their DISTINCT roles and equally share the Divine essence (nature) of God in PERFECT HARMONY AND RIGHTEOUSNESS. The Father WILLS, the Son DECLARES and the Holy Spirit ACTS.
In verse 7 Jesus, as God the Son and glorified Son of Man, approaches the throne where God the Father has the scroll in His hand and Jesus, the only One Who is worthy to receive the scroll, takes the scroll from the Father’s hand.
WE ARE NOW LOOKING AT : “AFTER THESE THINGS” of Revelation 4:1 “After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven, and the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things.”
John is still on the island of Patmos but he is, in the Spirit, caught up to heaven where he receives visions of THINGS that will take place “after these things”(the CHURCH AGE), meaning THINGS that take place AFTER the Church is complete (when the LAST person “chosen in Jesus BEFORE the foundation of the world,” has trusted/believed in Jesus as Lord and Saviour) and the Church is RAPTURED into the air to meet our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Who will take us home to the Father’s House (which is the END of the CHURCH AGE) In his visions John sees the Church represented by the twenty-four elders, having appeared before the Judgement Seat of Christ to receive (and not receive) rewards depending on the motives behind our works for God performed during our time on earth as “born-again believers) evidenced by the golden crowns (stephanos and not diadems)
The CHURCH AGE has ended and the RAPTURE has taken place, with the CHURCH represented here by the TWENTY FOUR ELDERS.
Now HERE we have God the Father sitting on the throne holding the scroll with the seven seals.God the Son, the Lamb of God, the Lion of Judah is approaching the throne to receive the scroll from God the Father as He is the ONLY One worthy to receive the scroll and open the seals. God the Hole Spirit is in front of the throne portrayed as seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. Can you see the TRINITY?
The moment the Son of Man (the Lamb) has taken the scroll out of the hand of the God the Father, the twenty four elders (the CHURCH) fall down before the Lamb (the Son of Man) and sing a new song.
Revelation 5:9-10 And they *sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.” God the Son, Jesus Christ, as the Son of Man has paid the price for our (the Church) sins and redeemed us (the Church) from out of all tribe and tongue and people and nation, that is out of ALL mankind.
It doesn’t matter from what country you come from, nor what colour your skin is, nor how bad a sinner you are, nor how rich or poor you are, nor how beautiful you are, nor how clever you are, nor how a goody goody you are, AS LONG AS you ACKNOWLEDGE you are a lost sinner, REPENT of your sins, BELIEVE that God the Father sent His Son into this world to pay the price of our sins and redeem us unto Himself through the blood of His Son, that the Son of God was born of the virgin Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit and took on human form as the Son of Man, that Jesus as a SINLESS human died for our sins on that horrible cross so that we have victory over sin in Him, that He was buried and rose again after three days, so that we have victory over death in Him and ascended into heaven, is seated at the right of the Father and is our Mediator every moment, then you ARE BORN AGAIN and ARE part of the CHURCH that is around the throne of God singing this new song.

After the living creatures and the twenty-four for elders finished their song, John saw and heard myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands of angels standing around the throne, the living creatures and the twenty-four elders.
Now the classic number of myriad is 10,000 (division of soldiers) but it can also be interpreted as an innumerable group. Even taken as 10,000, one myriad of one myriad myriad would equal to 10,000 times 10,000 which equals 100,000,000. Now myriadS of myriadS would conclude in an innumerable amount of angels around the throne, the living creatures and the twenty-four elders singing with a LOUD voice. Their normal voices would be very loud, so LOUD voices would be an amazing PERFECT heavenly sound. They sing “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing.” Revelation 5:12
If that was not enough praise so far what we read next is another amazing scene.
Revelation 5:13 And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, “To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.”
This is everything that is created saying these words together. This is a beautiful reflection of Psalm 148:1-14 where the whole creation is invoked to praise the Lord.
LET IS PRAISE THE LORD.
PRAISE THE LORD - THE LAMB OF GOD - THE LION OF JUDAH
We now move to Revelation 6:1 where the Lamb (Jesus Christ) removes the first seal of the scroll. One of the four living creatures calls out with a loud voice of THUNDER (a voice roaring with authority) “COME”
Now REMEMBER, at this stage the CHURCH, THE BRIDE OF CHRIST, THE NEW JERUSALEM has been RAPTURED and is in heaven, represented by the TWENTY-FOUR ELDERS clothed in white garments and wearing golden crowns (stephanos), seated on thrones around the throne of God and the four living creatures.
So with the CHURCH in heaven and the chaos after the IMMINENT RAPTURE has settled down and the elite has change the set up of the world into a NEW WORLD ORDER which most likely will appear as the SEVENTH head , and will rapidly develop into a world divided into TEN commercial “KINGDOMS” but yet without leaders for these kingdoms.
This SEVENTH head is the SIXTH head which WAS, is NOT and is TO COME This is the Roman Empire which WAS, it was then DEFEATED by Germanic tribes at the Battle of Teutoburg Forest. The Roman Empire WAS NOT destroyed by the Germanic tribes but defeated and from there on it weakened badly (AS IF IT RECEVEID A DEADLY WOUND) and thus became the HEAD THAT WAS NOT, but which would appear as the SEVENTH in the LAST DAYS as the HEAD THAT IS TO COME.
Revelation 13:3 I saw one of his heads AS IF it had BEEN SLAIN, and his fatal wound WAS HEALED.
Revelation 17:8 “The beast that you saw WAS, and IS NOT, andIS ABOUT TO COME up out of the abyss and go to destruction. And those who dwell on the earth, whose name has not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will wonder when they see the beast, that HE WAS and IS NOT and WILL COME.”
After the RAPTURE of Revelation 4:1-4 the world will rapidly increase in lawlessness providing the perfect platform for the revived Roman Empire to appear on the scene and from which the Man of Lawlessness will emerge.
Daniel 7:7-8 “After this I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrifying and extremely strong; and it had large iron teeth. It devoured and crushed and trampled down the remainder with its feet; and it was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns. While I was contemplating the horns, behold, ANOTHER HORN A LITTLE ONE, came up among them………..”
Now the first four seals will bring on the scene four riders each riding on a different coloured horse. They are often called the FOUR HORSEMEN of Revelation 6:1-8
Each time one of the first four seals is broken one of the four LIVING BEINGS calls out “Come”.
The King James Version writes this as the four LIVING BEINGS calling out “Come AND SEE” which we believe is incorrect as John is ALREADY THERE seeing the vision. He doesn’t need to come. The LIVING BEINGS call out to the RIDERS on the four different horses to “come” and they arrive in the vision.
JESUS CHRIST BREAKS THE FIRST SEAL OF THE SCROLL
The first seal brings on the scene a rider on a white horse.
Revelation 6:1 Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, “Come.”
Revelation 6:2 “I looked, and behold, a WHITE HORSE, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.”
Many author’s of books have described this rider as the Lord Jesus Christ coming as a conqueror. That is a totally wrong interpretation of the scene. This would place Jesus on the earth during the Tribulation period but that is also incorrect as Jesus will be in heaven removing the seals of the scroll and will come to the earth with His army of Saints at the end of the SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD.
This rider on the white horse has a bow but NO ARROWS and a crown was given to him. He goes out conquering and to conquer. As he has no arrows but only a bow means that he conquers with diplomacy, deceiving words and FALSE PEACE.
1Thessalonians 5:3 While they are saying, “PEACE AND SAFETY!” then DESTRUCTION will come upon them SUDDENLY like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape.
It is possible that after the RAPTURE the elite, perhaps through the United Nations, will divide the world into ten economic blocks and appoint a leader in each block, (the ten horns on the SEVENTH BEAST). The revived Roman Empire will quickly re-organise the world into a NEW WORLD ORDER (remember the late George Bush sen, announcing the NEW WORLD ORDER?) by conquering countries through diplomacy. Before the ten leaders (kings) will take control in their economic blocks, the LITTLE HORN arises and takes control, while the ten leaders (kings) in ONE ACCORD give their AUTHORITY and POWER to the LITTLE HORN, who is no other than the MAN OF LAWLESSNESS who is revealed after the RAPTURE.
2 Thessalonians 2: 7-10 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. Then THAT LAWLESS ONE WILL BE REVEALED whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.
It is of NO USE to speculate who the ANTICHRIST will be as he will NOT be REVEALED until AFTER the RAPTURE of the CHURCH.
Revelation 17:12-13 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they receive authority as kings with the beast for one hour. “These have one purpose, and they give their POWER and AUTHORITY to the beast.
Revelation 13:4 they WORSHIPED THE DRAGON because he gave his authority to the beast; and they WORSHIPED THE BEAST, saying, “Who is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?”
Remember that this Revived Roman Empire comes on the scene as the consummation of all the seven kingdoms shown on my chart above. Why?
As you read Revelation 13:1-3 “And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore. Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having TEN HORNS and SEVEN HEADS, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names. And the beast which I saw was like a LEOPARD, and his feet were like those of a BEAR, and his mouth like the mouth of a LION. And the dragon gave him his power and his throne and great authority. I saw one of his heads AS IF it had been slain, and his fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast;”
The Man of Lawlessness who makes the SEVEN YEAR TREATY will become the ANTICHRIST when at the middle of that treaty Satan will possess him and who then, as the ANTICHRIST, takes his seat in the temple and sets himself up as God. This is of course the one thing Satan has always wanted, to be worshiped as God.
Matthew 4:8-9 “Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and *showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory; and he said to Him, “All these things I will give You, if You fall down and WORSHIP ME.”
Many scholars and writers have interpreted the rider on the white horse as the coming ANTICHRIST. We believe this is incorrect as a whole but can be applied partially. Our understanding is that this rider represents the New World Order that is now arising rapidly and will burst on the world stage as soon as it is GOD’S TIME. Not earlier and not later. At the PRECISE TIME it will happen. So don’t think the elite is in control, they are not. God is in COMPLETE control and ALWAYS WILL BE in COMPLETE control.
Many scholars and writes also think that Revelation 13:3 “I saw one of his heads as if it had been slain, and his fatal wound was healed.” means that the coming Antichrist will be assassinated and miraculously revived, imitating the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is completely incorrect.
Revelation 13:3 refers to the the sixth head (the Roman Empire that is) and then is defeated (but not destroyed) by the Germanic tribes and thus “is not” which (and thus is seen “as if” it had received a fatal wound, and then re-emerges as the seventh head as the revived Roman Empire in the form of a global New World order divided into ten economic blocks (ten kingdoms / ten horns). Out of this seventh head another “LITTLE HORN” comes on the scene and the ten kings will give their authority and power (military) to this little horn (the Man of Lawlessness) who will, as represented by the bow in his hand but no arrows, start conquering many with his elegant and clever words, but who comes with the power, the throne and authority from Satan. Revelation 13:2 “And the beast which I saw was like a LEOPARD, and his feet were like those of a BEAR, and his mouth like the mouth of a LION. And the DRAGON gave him his POWER and his THRONE and great AUTHORITY“.
Please note that John seas the order backwards compared with the way Daniel saw the beasts. The terrible seventh beast (flowing into the eighth) that is coming encompasses all the traits of the previous heads. (Roman, Grecian, Medo-Persian, Babylon, Assyrian and Egyptian)
Revelation 17:9 “Here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains (kingdoms that controlled the known world in their times) on which the woman sits, and they are seven kings (kings that ruled these kingdoms); five have fallen (Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persian, Greece) (five have fallen) one is (Rome)(one is), the other has not yet come (one is not) and when he (the seventh) comes (Revived Roman Empire in the form of a New World order divided into ten economic blocks with ten leaders “kings” depicted as the ten horns ), from which the LITTLE HORN (who will be of the seven but who himself be an eighth head) he must remain a little while.”

So we believe that the rider on the white horse depicts partially the rising of the seventh head (Revived Roman Empire – TEN HORNS) and partially the LITTLE HORN who is of the SEVEN and is himself also an EIGHTH, the coming MAN OF LAWLESSNESS.
Here is our scenario of how things soon will evolve.
The IMMINENT RAPTURE takes place. Chaos and panic all around the world because millions of people (born again believers) have suddenly disappeared, creating disasters, stress and sadness. The New World Order (which George Bush senior in 2001 said had started) will take quick and complete control. They announce their plan to divide the world into ten economic blocks (ten horns), appoint ten leaders (kings who NEVER had a kingdom before) and will be even more ruthless than the old Roman Empire. New technologies will flood the world scene and old systems will be cancelled and new systems will be put in place taking more and more control of the people. Don’t think this is fantasy. It is reality and if you know how to read the news properly you will see it all falling into place. All the players are in position. The people just have to wait for the curtain to open and the play to start, and start it will, IN GOD’S TIME, NOT EARLIER NOT LATER.
Daniel 7:4 “As for the ten horns, OUT of THIS KINGDOM TEN KINGS WILL ARISE; and another will arise after them, and he will be different from the previous ones and will subdue three kings.”
“Out of this kingdom” means the revived Roman Empire, there will emerge 10 horns (the ten economic blocks) with ten appointed leaders (ten kings) AND from these the LITTLE HORN will emerge who will be the MAN OF LAWLESSNESS who will be REVEALED, which will be not long after the RAPTURE and when things are at its worst,
2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. THEN that LAWLESSNESS ONE will be REVEALED whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;”
We believe the restrainer is the HOLY SPIRIT working in the CHURCH (the BODY OF CHRIST) as we are the SALT of the earth, restraining the rot from spreading too fast. Once the HOLY SPIRIT removes the CHURCH (born again believers) at the RAPTURE, the rot will spread rapidly and the world will become like in the times of Sodom and Gomorrah. People will be looking for a leader and that leader will be the MAN OF LAWLESSNESS. Now you can see that the rider on the white horse can depict the Revived Roman Empire and also later on as the Man of Lawlessness.
2 Thessalonians 2:6 “And you know WHAT RESTRAINS him now, so that in his time he will be revealed.”
The word “WHAT” is neuter gender, (neither male nor female) because, as we believe, it refers to the POWER of the Holy Spirit which is neuter gender and not a person.
2 Thessalonians 2:7 “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only HE who now restrains will do so until HE is taken out of the way.”
The word “HE” in verse seven (which is masculine gender), refers, as we believe, to the HOLY SPIRIT exercising HIS RESTRAINING POWER through the CHURCH until the CHURCH is “TAKEN OUT OF THE WAY” at the RAPTURE and the RESTRAINING POWER is thus removed.
IN GOD'S TIME HE IS REVEALED
JESUS HAS ALREADY BEEN REVEALED - HE IS WAITING FOR YOU TO BELIEVE IN HIM
Now remember that the breaking of the first seal is NOT necessarily the beginning of the SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD, because it doesn’t start until the MAN OF LAWLESSNESS makes a treaty with many. That treaty duration last for a HEPTAD, a period of SEVEN YEARS.
Daniel 9:27 “And he will make a firm covenant with the many for ONE WEEK, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.”
As we stated above, we believe that the rider on the white horse represents the coming REVIVED ROMAN EMPIRE (a NEW WORLD ORDER divided into ten economic states [ten horns], the SEVENTH HEAD, from which the LITTLE HORN or MAN OF LAWLESSNESS will arise, the one who himself is OF the SEVEN and is himself also an EIGHTH.
Revelation 17:11 ““The beast which was and is not, is himself also AN EIGHTH and is one OF THE SEVEN, and he goes to destruction.”
Revelation 13:3 “I saw one of his heads AS IF [it had been slain, and his fatal wound was HEALED]. And the whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast;”
Now the part in blue and underlined must be read as a WHOLE part of the words AS IF, because if the “it had been slain” is AS IF, then the “and his fatal wound was healed” MUST ALSO be AS IF.
Carefully and prayerfully read what we are about to write next.
Revelation 13:1 “And the DRAGON stood on the sand of the seashore. Then I saw a BEAST coming up out of the SEA, having TEN HORNS and SEVEN HEADS, and on his HORNS were TEN DIADEMS, and on his HEADS were BLASPHEMOUS NAMES.”
The dragon here is none other than Satan. The King James Version write “I stood on the seashore” meaning that is was John who was standing on the seashore. Neither the word Satan nor I are in the original text, so we must look at the the context. Some translations put “And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore” as verse 18 of chapter 12. We accept the placing in verse one of chapter 13 and as the dragon in in view in the last verses of chapter 12 we believe that it is the dragon who stood on the sand of the seashore. The sand symbolises the immense number of unbelieving people in the world that Satan mobilises against Israel and the many people that believe in Jesus during the Tribulation period. The born again believers are caught up to heaven in the RAPTURE leaving only unbelievers on the earth.
John is in heaven in the Spirit when he sees these visions. If he was to be placed somewhere else like the seashore Scriptures would mention this as in Revelation 17:3 “And he CARRIED ME AWAY IN THE SPIRIT into a wilderness” and in Revelation 21:10 “And he CARRIED ME AWAY IN THE SPIRIT to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,”
The BEAST that comes up is the POLITICAL, ECONOMICAL and MILITARY system Satan uses over the ages for his plan to oppose God.
The SEA is the chaotic evil condition of the world when all this starts to unfold.
When Daniel wrote about his visions of the four beast coming up out of the churning sea we know that the last beast is the Roman Empire (the sixth head) that evolves into the revived Roman Empire (seventh head) and the Antichrist’s Roman Empire (the eighth head) and which is depicted in Revelation 13:1 as the seventh head.
The TEN HORNS are the ten kingdoms the emerging Revived Roman Empire (seventh head) will be divided in.
The SEVEN HEADS are the seven world that controlled the then known worlds and effected Israel. Egypt – Assyria – Babylon – Medes-Persian – Greece – Roman – Revived Roman,
Revelation 17:10 “and they are seven kings; FIVE HAVE FALLEN (EGYPT – ASSYRIA – BABYLON -MEDES-PERSIAN – GREECE), ONE IS (ROMAN), THE OTHER (REVIVED ROMAN EMPIRE) HAS NOT YET COME; and when he comes, he MUST REMAIN A LITTLE WHILE.(ANTICHRIST’S REVIVED ROMAN EMPIRE)”.
The TEN DIADEMS are royal crowns give to the ten appointed leaders (kings) of the ten economic blocks the Revived Roman Empire appears in. They will have power (military) and authority (governmental) but will not exercise that power and authority themselves as they will give it to the Little Horn (the Man of Lawlessness morphing into the Antichrist when Satan possesses him)
Revelation 17:12-13 ““The TEN HORNS which you saw are TEN KINGS who have NOT YET RECEIVED A KINGDOM, but they receive authority AS KINGS WITH THE BEAST FOR ONE HOUR. These have ONE PURPOSE, and THEY GIVE THEIR POWER AND AUTHORITY to the beast.”
Reading from the above verse we can see that although the elite will divide the known world into ten economic blocks and appoint ten individuals who will each rule one of these economic blocks the world has been divided in, but will ONLY get authority AS KINGS with the LITTLE HORN for ONE HOUR, meaning a short intense period of time. probably from the moment the Man of Lawlessness (Little Horn) makes a seven year covenant (treaty) with many. They have all one purpose and that is to give all their power (military) and authority (rule) to the Man of Lawlessness.
After the Man of Lawlessness (the Little Horn) is possessed by Satan and becomes the ANTICHRIST, he enters the Temple and takes his seat as God. The FALSE PROPHET will tell the people to make an IMAGE of the beast, THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, and commands them to WORSHIP the beast and take his MARK. That’s the time that he and the ten kings will destroy the world religions (the false church, Revelation 17:16) and the ANTICHRIST will then uproot THREE of these ten “economic blocks” (kingdoms). GOD’S WRATH will break forth over the whole earth.

Revelation 6:3-4 When He broke the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come.” And another, a RED HORSE, went out; and to him who sat on it, it was granted to take peace from the earth, and that men would slay one another; and a great sword was given to him.
Now this rider on the red horse comes on the scene, we believe, shortly after the Revived Roman Empire has emerged (the seventh head with the ten horns) and divided the world into ten economic blocks (horns-kingdoms) and out of which emerges the LITTLE HORN (of the seven but himself an eighth) who is revealed as the MAN OF LAWLESSNESS. He has managed to conquer much territory with amazing orating skills and deceitful false peace. With all the chaos the world is in after the RAPTURE, this Man of Lawlessness will be able to convince many leaders of the world, including Israel, to enter into a SEVEN YEAR COVENANT of peace, which we know he will break in the middle of that Seven Year Period (THE TRIBULATION PERIOD, of which the last three and a half year will be called “THE GREAT TRIBUALTION” or “JACOB’S TROUBLE”.
JESUS CHRIST BREAKS THE SECOND SEAL OF THE SCROLL
He will take peace from the earth shortly after the Man of Lawlessness has made the seven year covenant with many and violence and wars will break out all around the world with the persecution of Tribulation believers and Jews will begin. Many, many of the will be slaughtered for their faith.
Revelation 7:9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; and they cry out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.
Revelation 7:13-14 Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “These who are clothed in the white robes, who are they, and where have they come from?” I said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of GREAT TRIBULATION, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”
Now many translations place the definite article “the” before “great tribulation” making it to be read as “the great tribulation” which are the last three and a half years of the seven year tribulation period (Daniel’s Week).
The King James Version omits the definite article “the” and makes it read as “great tribulation”. This makes it to be understood that this great tribulation means a time of severe suffering and not necessarily a specific period like “the great tribulation” which is the last three and a half year period of the seven year tribulation period.
The reason why we believe this to be true is that there are three such groups in the book of Revelation.
Revelation 4:6 “and BEFORE THE THRONE there was something like a SEA OF GLASS, like crystal; and in the center and around the throne, four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind.
Revelation 6:9-11 “When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had maintained; and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, will YOU REFRAIN FROM JUDGING AND AVENGING OUR BLOOD on those who dwell on the earth? And there was given to each of them a white robe; and they WERE TOLD that they SHOULD REST for a little while longer, UNTIL the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who WERE TO BE KILLED even as they had been, would be completed also.

Revelation 15:2 And I saw something like a SEA OF GLASS MIXED WITH FIRE, and those who had been victorious over the beast and his image and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, holding harps of God.
Revelation 20:4 “Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who HAD BEEN BEHEADED because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.”
In Revelation 4:6 the SEA OF GLASS has nobody standing on it as it is just after the RAPTURE that John sees this scene.
In Revelation 6:9-11 we see, as we believe, a large group of martyrs that have been killed during the FIRST THREE AND A HALF YEARS of the Seven Year Tribulation period as they have been slain because of the WORD OF GOD (the Scriptures) and the TESTIMONY which they have maintained (when they have been arrested and thrown into jail). Revelation 24:9 “Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you WILL BE HATED by all nations because of MY NAME.“ What is His name besides Jesus? THE WORD OF GOD. Revelation 19:13 “He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and HIS NAME is called THE WORD OF GOD.”
They are asking God to avenge their blood. They were NOT martyred because of the mark of the beast and not worshiping the image of the beast, but because of their witnessing of the Gospel and their TESTIMONY before judges when they are dragged into courts because of their faith in Jesus and the WORD OF GOD.
Matthew 10:17-18 “But beware of men, for they will hand you over to the courts and scourge you in their synagogues; and you will even be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a TESTIMONY to them and to the Gentiles.” These verses prefigure the immense persecution many Jews and Gentiles will endure during the first three and a half years of the Tribulation Period.
Matthew 10:21-22 ““Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will RISE UP AGAINST THEIR PARENTS and CAUSE THEM TO BE PUT TO DEATH. You WILL BE HATED by all because of MY NAME, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.“
2 Timothy 3:1-4 “But realize this, that in the LAST DAYS difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, DISOBEDIENT TO PARENTS, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, TREACHEROUS, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
However they are told to rest (in the Lord) and wait a little while longer, UNTIL the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who WERE TO BE KILLED even as they had been, would be completed also. This number that still has to be killed will be martyred in the SECOND THREE AND A HALF YEARS of the Seven Year Tribulation period and this period of course is also called THE GREAT TRIBULATION and JACOB’S TROUBLE.
Revelation 7:9 describes a large innumerable multitude standing BEFORE THE THRONE of God, clothed in white robes and palms branches in their hands. They represent victory, triumph and joyous celebration of the redeemed WHO HAVE EMERGED from the WHOLE SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD and who are praising God for their salvation.
This is NOT the CHURCH as she is already RAPTURED, rewarded at the Judgement Seat of Jesus Christ (Crowns on their heads) and are seated ON THEIR THRONES AROUND THE THRONE of God.
Revelation 15:2 And I saw something like a SEA OF GLASS MIXED WITH FIRE, and those who had been victorious over the beast and his image and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, holding harps of God.
As you can read from the verse we know that these are the martyrs that have been killed in the SECOND HALF OF THE SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD, which is also called THE GREAT TRIBULATION and JACOB’S TROUBLE. Jeremiah 30:7 ‘Alas! for that day is great, There is none like it; And it is the time of JACOB’S DISTRESS, But he will be saved from it.” King James has “trouble” instead of “distress”.
THEN we have the final group in Revelation 20:4 “Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their TESTIMONY OF JESUS and because of the WORD OF GOD, and those who had NOT WORSHIPED the beast or his image, and had NOT RECEIVED the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.”
“And I saw the souls of those……..” These are again the COMPLETE MULTITUDE OF MARTYRS who have died during the WHOLE SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD and come to life to reign with Jesus during the Millennium Kingdom on the curse free earth.
We believe that the first part of the above verse refers to the Church Saints sitting on thrones in the Millennium Kingdom and judge the twelve tribes of Israel. Luke 22:30 “that you may eat and drink at My table in MY KINGDOM, and you will SIT ON THRONES JUDGING THE TWELVE TRIBES OF ISRAEL.” Jesus is talking to His disciples but in the wider sense to the Church beginning at Pentecost.
Before we get back to the RIDER on the RED HORSE we want to mention the fact that the elite that will bring in the New Word Order of the Revived Roman Empire have a totally different plan than God’s plan.
Their plan is satanic while God’s plan is perfect and righteous. Listen to what Paul-Henri Spaak, former Prime Minister of Belgium and Secretary General of NATO declared in October 1957 Remember that even in the early part of 2026 NATO is still in disarray.
JESUS CHRIST BREAKS THE THIRD SEAL OF THE SCROLL
Revelation 6:5-6 When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, “Come.” I looked, and behold, a BLACK HORSE; and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard something like a voice in the center of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not damage the oil and the wine.”
This rider on the black horse and holding scales in his hand portrays economic upheaval because of businesses collapsing, agriculture failing because of the world disaster that are coming thick and fast, but also because of wars. The words “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius” mean that food is hard to come by and inflation drives it up in price. A denarius in that time was the equivalent of a day’s wages.
However, the words “and do not damage the oil and the wine.” are a bit harder to interpret. Some explain this to mean that the rich will not suffer as the poor do. We believe that it most likely means that God’s amazing mercy allows not all food to be decimated. As we read the story of Job we learn that God limits the extend Satan can do his destructive work. We think this may well be the same here. It is more the staple foods that are effected.
We must also remember that many Jews are being persecuted, harmed and martyred during this time. This leads us to believe the oil and wine are not to be harmed might be because oil and wine were often used for cleaning and soothing wounds.
Luke 10:33-34 “But a Samaritan, who was on a journey, came upon him; and when he saw him, he felt compassion, and came to him and BANDAGED UP HIS WOUNDS, pouring OIL AND WINE on them; and he put him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn and took care of him.” The Samaritan shows great mercy and this might be what God is doing by commanding NOT to damage the oil and the wine. In Revelation 6:6 oinos refers to grapes on the vine as a crop not to be destroyed. Thus, for believers in NT times, “wine”(oinos) was a general word that could be used for two distinctly different grape beverages, fermented and unfermented wine. Whatever you want to take from it let be to the glory of God. We like to think of it as God’s amazing mercy for His people during this time of great distress.
We know that thee will be the remnant whom God supernaturally protects in the wilderness during the GREAT TRIBULATION (the LAST THREE YEARS OF THE SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD) and the oil and the wine might be special blessing and provision to them from God as we can read that the grain, the wine and the oil were special blessing for the tribes when they were obedient to God’s commandments statues as they entered the lands God had allotted to them Deuteronomy 11:11-13 “It shall come about, if you LISTEN OBEDIENTLY TO MY COMMANDMENTS which I am commanding you today, to LOVE the LORD YOUR GOD and to SERVE HIM with ALL YOUR HEART and ALL YOUR SOUL, that He will give the rain for your land in its season, the early and late rain, that you may gather in your GRAIN and your NEW WINE and your OIL.”
JESUS CHRIST BREAKS THE FOURTH SEAL OF THE SCROLL
Revelation 6:7-8 When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come”. I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with SWORD and with FAMINE and with PESTILENCE and by the WILD BEASTS of the earth.”
Is this of what Ezekiel spoke in Ezekiel 14:21 For thus says the Lord GOD, “How much more when I send MY FOUR SEVERE JUDGMENTS against Jerusalem: SWORD, FAMINE, WILD BEAST AND PLAGUE to cut off man and beast from it!”?
The four severe judgements in Ezekiel 14:21 are mirrored in the fourth seal of the scroll and reflect both on the captivity to Babylon and destruction of Jerusalem and the Tribulation period.
These things will ONLY affect the UNBELIEVERS. Remember this as we will explain this in the next paragraph..
The Revelation verse above says that the name of he rider is DEATH. This is the only time the rider has been given a name. He has been given authority over a fourth of the earth, probably Europe and the Middle East and definitely Israel / Jerusalem. God will allow Death to kill millions if not billions. Now the reason we asked you to remember the above words that it will only affect UNBELIEVERS is because HADES was following with him to gobble up all the spirits/souls of all the death slaughtered by THE RIDER DEATH. Now HADES is the place where only the spirits/souls of UNBELIEVERS go to await the GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGEMENT at the end of the MILLENNIUM REIGN of Jesus Christ. God will allow a remnant of BELIEVERS to survive these judgments as seen in Ezekiel 14:22-23 “Yet, behold, SURVIVORS will BE LEFT in it who will be BROUGHT OUT, both sons and daughters. Behold, they are going to come forth to you and you will see their conduct and actions; then you will be comforted for the calamity which I have brought against Jerusalem for everything which I have brought upon it. Then they will comfort you when you see their conduct and actions, for you will know that I have not done in vain whatever I did to it,” declares the Lord GOD.
However, IF there are among the dead in this Tribulation judgement believers, then their souls/spirit will go to heaven and will be the tribulation saints seen under the altar when the fifth seal is broken.
JESUS CHRIST BREAKS THE FIFTH SEAL OF THE SCROLL
Revelation 6:9-11 When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been SLAIN because of the WORD OF GOD, and because of the TESTIMONY which they had maintained; and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” And there was given to each of them a white robe; and they WERE TOLD that they SHOULD REST for a little while longer, UNTIL the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who WERE TO BE KILLED even as they had been, would be COMPLETED also.
These are the martyrs that have come out of the FIRST THREE AND A HALF YEARS of the SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD and they are told to wait until the fellow servants and their brethren are martyred as well during the SECOND THREE AND A HALF YEARS of the SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD, also known as the GREAT TRIBULATION or JACOB’S TROUBLE. (Jeremiah 30:7 “Alas! for that day is great, There is none like it; And it is the time of JACOB’S DISTRESS, But he will be saved from it.” This last part in blue confirms that God will supernaturally keep a remnant save in the wilderness during the GREAT TRIBULATION. Revelation 12:6 Then the woman fled into the wilderness where she had A PLACE PREPARED BY GOD, so that there she would be nourished for ONE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY DAYS. (3 1/2 years, in these days the years had 360 days or 12 months of 30 days) which is the second half of the SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD or the GREAT TRIBULATION (JACOB’S TROUBLE).
REMEMBER that these martyrs under the altar are TRIBULATION SAINTS and NOT CHURCH SAINTS as they were RAPTURED before the SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD began. You can read more about the DIFFERENT SAINTS on our TOPIC PAGE “SAINTS”. Click Here.
JESUS CHRIST BREAKS THE SIXTH SEAL OF THE SCROLL
Revelation 6:12-14 “I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood; and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind. The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.”
Here we shall look at the similarities between what Jesus Christ, the SON OF MAN, while in His FLESH at the “OLIVET DISCOURSE (Matthew 24:1-30) , foretold what would happen in the DAY OF THE LORD, more than two thousand years in advance, being a beautiful display of His DEITY and what is written in the Scroll with the Seven Seals Revelation 6:1-17.
REMEMBER JESUS CHRIST IS THE WORD
HIS WORD GOES FORTH AND WON'T RETURN
UNTIL IT HAS ACCOMPLISHED WHAT IT SET OUT TO DO
John 1:1 In the beginning was THE WORD, and THE WORD WAS WITH GOD, and THE WORD WAS GOD
Revelation 19:13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and HIS NAME is called THE WORD OF GOD
John 12:49-50 “For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me HAS GIVEN ME A COMMANDMENT AS WHAT TO SAY AND WHAT TO SPEAK I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I SPEAK JUST AS THE FATHER HAS TOLD ME.”
John 14:10-11 “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but THE FATHER abiding in Me DOES His works. BELIEVE ME that I AM IN THE FATHER AND THE FATHER IS IN ME; otherwise believe because of the works themselves.“
Here again we can see the HOLY TRINITY at work, the FATHER wills, the WORD speaks and the HOLY SPIRIT works.
Isaiah 55:11 “So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It WILL NOT RETURN to Me EMPTY, WITHOUT ACCOMPLISHING what I desire, And WITHOUT SUCCEEDING in the matter for which I SENT it.”

Reading, hearing, studying (dwelling upon) and heeding the words in the PROPHECY will attract SPECIAL BLESSINGS. DON’T FEAR THEM, but REJOICE IN THEM as you WON’T be here when all this will happen IF YOU HAVE TRUSTED IN JESUS AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOUR.
He is CALLING YOU in your heart. Don’t harden your heart and resist Him, but humble yourself, repent of your sins, believe in Him and give your heart to Him. Are you ready NOW? Now let us get back to the breaking of the sixth seal.

The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.”
We believe the judgements of this seal will come at the end of the FIRST THREE AND A HALF YEARS OF THE SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD.
We also believe that the first five seals depict the escalating disasters caused by the evil, selfish and ungodly governmental and economical human actions of rebellion against God. The emphasis of these seals is on conquest, war, famine, pestilence and death. God allows it to happen but it is human induced. The fifth seal of course places the emphasis on the many people that get martyred for their testimony of Jesus and their witnessing of the Word of God.
When the sixth seal is broken there is a great earthquake, but no damage or destruction is mentioned. We believe that this earthquake signifies the end of the human cause of all the disasters and death. It precipitates (triggers off, causes etc) the coming DAY OF THE LORD’S WRATH. These first five seals are only the BIRTH PANGS.
This more or less confirmed by the next three verses.
Revelation 6:15-17 Then the kings of the earth and the great men and the commanders and the rich and the strong and every slave and free man hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains; and they said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; for the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
These verses describe that ALL men on he earth, the KINGS of the earth and the GREAT MEN and the COMMANDERS and the RICH and the STRONG and EVERY SLAVE and FREE man will be terrified on what is happening all of a sudden. They are so terrified that they want to hide themselves in caves and ask the rocks to fall over the caves so they can hide themselves from the One Who sits on the throne and from the WRATH OF THE LAMB (LORD). Now comes the IMPORTANT part. For the GREAT DAY OF THEIR WRATH has come.
This means we have now arrived at the just past the halfway mark of the SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD, which is also the start of GOD’S WRATH on the UNBELIEVING WORLD, ANTICHRIST and the FALSE PROPHET.
Before we mention some of the important events that will happen at this time we want to go back to the verses of Revelation 6:12-14 at the top of this section and point out a catastrophic event that will take place here. The sun becomes BLACK AS SACKCLOTH made of hair could mean the mourning of the sun for the sins of the world. We are not told how the sun becomes black. Maybe as a result from volcanic eruptions that occur when the earthquake takes place. Maybe it is the biggest eclipse of the sun the earth has ever experienced and we know that when there is a perfect eclipse of the sun when the moon passes between the sun and the earth, the whole moon becomes red like blood. We have all seen “blood moons” lately, this will be many times redder. Stars of the sky will fall to the earth could be a large meteors shower, but we are also convinced that this might mean Satan loses his battle in heaven against Michael and he and his fallen angels that are not confined to the abyss will be thrown down to the earth knowing that they only have a very short time to fulfill their evil plan against God, namely three and a half years, the LAST THREE AND A HALF YEARS OF THE SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD, namely the GREAT TRIBULATION.
Revelation 12:7-9 And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war, and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.”
Luke describes it this way on Luke 21:26 “men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for THE POWERS OF THE HEAVENS WILL BE SHAKEN.”
Ephesians 6:12 “For our struggle is not against FLESH AND BLOOD, but against the rulers, against the POWERS, against the world FORCES of this DARKNESS, against the SPIRITUAL FORCES of wickedness in the HEAVENLY PLACES.”
Revelation 12:12 “For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because THE DEVIL HAS COME DOWN TO YOU, having GREAT WRATH, knowing that he has only a SHORT TIME.” That short time is of course the LAST THREE AND A HALF YEARS OF THE SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD, also known as THE GREAT TRIBULATION or JACOB’S TROUBLE
Revelation 13:5 There was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies, and AUTHORITY TO ACT FOR FORTY-TWO MONTHS was given to him. That are the LAST THREE AND A HALF YEARS OF THE SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD also known as the GREAT TRIBULATION or JACOB’S TROUBLE.
Joel warns of this cosmic upheavel.
Joel 2:31-32 “I will display wonders in the sky and on the earth, Blood, fire and columns of smoke.The sun will be turned into darkness And the moon into blood Before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes.“
Every mountain and every island will be moved out of their places. The earth will move on its AXIS creating massive cataclysmic events.
Job 9:9-10 “It is God who REMOVES THE MOUNTAINS, they know not how, When He OVERTURNS THEM IN HIS ANGER; Who SHAKES THE EARTH OUT OF ITS PLACE,
And its pillars tremble;”
Isaiah 13:1-22 tells of the prophecies about Babylon and how it falls to the ruthless army of the Medes and at the same time points to the great WRATH of the DAY OF THE LORD in the LAST THREE AND A HALF YEARS of the SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD also known as the GREAT TRIBULATION or JACOB’S TROUBLE.
Isaiah 13:13 “Therefore I will make the HEAVENS TREMBLE, And THE EARTH WILL BE SHAKEN FROM ITS PLACE” At the fury of the LORD of hosts In the day of His burning anger.”
Revelation 6:14 “THE SKY was SPLIT APART like a SCROLL when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.”
The first part of this verse says that the sky will be split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up which we believe means that God will allow the unbelievers on the earth to see a glimpse of the heavenly scene of Him Who sits on the throne, so that they know it is now God’s and the Lamb’s wrath that will bring about disasters etc and not man made disasters. That scene must be so powerful and scary that most of the people will be so terrified that they hide themselves in caves and between the rocks of the mountains, asking them to fall on them to hide them from Him Who sits on the heavenly throne and from the Lamb’s wrath.
Revelation 6:15-17 “Then the kings of the earth and the great men and the commanders and the rich and the strong and every slave and free man HID THEMSELVES IN THE CAVES AND AMONG THE ROCKS OF THE MOUNTAINS; and they said to the mountains and to the rocks, “FALL ON US AND HIDE US from the presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; for the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
JESUS CHRIST BREAKS THE SEVENTH SEAL OF THE SCROLL
Now we take a look at the seventh and last seal of the scroll. Before the seal is opened by the Lamb of God, we see an interlude during which the four angels that are on the four corners of the earth, holding back the the four winds of the earth with which they are granted to harm the earth and the sea, until the 144,000 bond-servants of God are sealed on their foreheads. These bond-servants of God will have the seal of God on their foreheads.
Revelation 7:1-3 “After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, so that no wind would blow on the earth or on the sea or on any tree. And I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, having the seal of the living God; and he cried out with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, saying, “Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees UNTIL WE HAVE SEALED THE BOND-SERVANTS OF OUR GOD ON THEIR FOREHEADS”
The question that has troubled many scholars and believers for a long time is WHEN do these 144,000 bond-servants of God BEGIN their ministry?
Because of the the above three verses are written betweenthe Sixth Seal and the Seventh Seal many think that the 144,000 bond-servants start their ministry just before midway of the SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD. While I was writing thissection I re-read many explanations to no avail So I bowed my head and asked God to show me through the Holy Spirit what the answer to that question is. When I re-read the Scriptures again the answer became very clear, at least that is what we believe. Here we go.
Nowhere in the verses above it says anything about the 144,000 being selected there and then nor that they have just come on the scene. The message given here is simply that the the four angels were to hold back the judgements to come UNTIL the 144,000 bond-servants were sealed with the Seal of God the Father.(Revelation 14:1).
We also see in Revelation 14:1 that the 144,000 stand with Jesus on the earth on Mount Zion while in Revelation 14:3 they stand in heaven before the throne, the four living beings and the twenty-four elders. This seams to be a contradiction but it is called a JUXTAPOSITION, the fact of two things being seen or placed close together with contrasting effect. It means that while they are on the earth with allegiance to Jesus their real position and identity are in heaven, Just like born-again believers who are still on the earth with allegiance to the Church and Jesus, their real position and identity are in Jesus in heaven.
We believe that the 144,000 Jewish bond-servants will be called out by God after the RAPTURE, preach the Gospel throughout the world during the FIRST THREE AND A HALF YEARS of the SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD and are sealed during the interlude between the sixth and seventh sealed, before God’s judgements and Satan/Antichrist’s wrath is poured out on the earth.
Now here is another very important point.
People will ONLY BE SAVED during the FIRST THREE AND A HALF YEARS of the SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD because Scriptures tell us over and over again that the UNBELIEVERS will NOT REPENT after God’s and the Lamb’s wrath begins to be poured out.
Revelation 16:9 Men were scorched with fierce heat; and they blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and THEY DID NOT REPENT so as to give Him glory.”
Revelation 16:11 and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores; and THEY DID NOT REPENT of their deeds.”
Revelation 16:21 :And huge hailstones, about one hundred pounds each, came down from heaven upon men; and MEN BLASPHEMED GOD because of the plague of the hail, because its plague *was extremely severe.
Revelation 7:4 “And I heard the number of those who were sealed, one hundred and forty-four thousand sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel:”
The 144,000 will have special protection and are kept safe from the divine judgements and the wrath of the Antichrist during the LAST THREE AND A HALF YEARS of the SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD also known as the GREAT TRIBULATION and JACOB’S TROUBLE. They will witness the Gospel all over the world, fulfilling the Scriptures of Matthew 24:14 “This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.”
There will be a great revival in the FIRST THREE AND A HALF YEARS of the SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD as we can see from Revelation 7:9 “After these things I looked, and behold, a GREAT MULTITUDE which no one could count, from EVERY NATION and all TRIBES and PEOPLES and TONGUES, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands;”
Revelation 7:14 “I said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the GREAT TRIBULATION, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” The King James version correctly has it as Great Tribulation without the definite article “the”, because if it was THE Great Tribulation then they would have only come out of the LAST THREE AND A HALF YEARS of the SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD as a lot of Tribulation Saints (believers) get martyred in the first three and a half years. (Revelation 6:9-11)
When the Lamb of God breaks the seventh seal there is a silence in heaven for about half an hour.
There have been a good number of explanation of the meaning of the half an hour period. Most of them can be relevant explanations but we believe that it is the calm before the storm as the Lamb of God is beginning His judgements on the unbelieving world and like Zephaniah 1:7 tells us “BE SILENT before the Lord GOD! For the DAY OF THE LORD is near.”
However we believe that the main reason for the half an hour of silence is to allow another angel to add more incense to the prayers of the martyred Tribulation Saints (see Revelation 6:9-10), the sweet aroma reaching the throne of God. This extra incense added to the prayers of the Saints will add extra severity to the coming judgements. Next the angel fill the censer with fire (most likely brimstone) from the altar and throws it down to the earth. This is followed by followed peals of thunder and sounds and flashes of lightning and an earthquake. Announcing the wrath of God is coming.
Now the scene moves to the SEVEN ANGELS who receive SEVEN TRUMPETS.
