THE SEVEN TRUMPETS
JESUS CHRIST BREAKS THE SEVENTH SEAL OF THE SCROLL
Revelation 8:1-2 “When the Lamb broke the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.”
However we believe that the main reason for the half an hour of silence is to allow another angel to add more incense to the prayers of the martyred Tribulation Saints (see Revelation 6:9-10), the sweet aroma reaching the throne of God. This extra incense added to the prayers of the Saints will add extra severity to the coming judgements. Next the angel fill the censer with fire (most likely brimstone) from the altar and throws it down to the earth. This is followed by followed peals of thunder and sounds and flashes of lightning and an earthquake. Announcing the wrath of God is coming.
Now the scene moves to the SEVEN ANGELS who receive SEVEN TRUMPETS and with the sounding of the SEVEN TRUMPETS new judgements are announced.
Looking again at our chart below we can see the the SEVENTH SEAL reveals the SEVEN TRUMPETS.
As we go further we will see that the fourth trumpet will announce the three woes and the seventh trumpet reveals the seven bowls, which we will discuss on our Topics page “The Seven Bowls”.

What is the meaning of the half an hour silence in heaven when the Lamb breaks the SEVENTH SEAL?
During the half hour of silence John saw seven angels standing before God and SEVEN TRUMPETS are given to them. It doesn’t say who gave the trumpets to them. On the altar before the throne are the prayers of the Saints. We believe these Saints are the Tribulation Saints who die during the FIRST THREE AND A HALF YEARS of the SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD. They are still in their “soulish” body awaiting the resurrection at the Second Coming of Jesus. The Church is already in heaven in their resurrected bodies which they received at the time of the RAPTURE.
Revelation 6:10-11 and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” And there was given to each of them a white robe; and they were told that they should rest for a little while longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who were to be killed even as they had been, would be completed also.
The first part of the verses above which is in red are the PRAYERS of the Saints and the last part of the verses above which is in red is the reason why they are there. They want vengeance but have to wait until the other martyrs are killed in the SECOND THREE AND A HALF YEARS of the SEVEN YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD which is also known as the GREAT TRIBULATION or JACOB’S TROUBLE.
An other angel comes and stands at the altar where the PRAYERS of the Saints are and he is given much incense which he puts in his golden censer which is in his hand, He then adds the PRAYERS of the Saints to the incense and the smoke of the incense together with the PRAYERS of the Saints go up before God out of the angel’s hand.
Some suggest that the “Saints” who’s prayers are on the altar, include the Church Age Saints, but that is incorrect as the Church Saints are around the throne of God in their resurrected bodies and not under the altar.
After this half and hour interlude the seven angels that have the trumpets prepare themselves to sound the trumpets.
Revelation 8:6 “And the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound them.”
This is the time that events on the earth and in the cosmos will start to heat up under the coming wrath of Satan and most of all the terrifying but righteous wrath of God Almighty and the Lamb.
Remember what Jesus says in Matthew 24:21-22 “For then there will be A GREAT TRIBULATION, SUCH AS HAS NOT OCCURRED SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE WORLD UNTIL NOW, NOR EVER WILL. Unless those days had been cut short, NO LIFE would have been saved; but FOR THE SAKE OF THE ELECT THOSE DAYS WILL BE CUT SHORT.”
This WILL happen as these are the WORDS of Jesus and we know of course that Jesus IS the WORD OF GOD and GOD’s WORD will NEVER FAIL

Isaiah 55:11 “So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It WILL NOT RETURN to Me empty, WITHOUT ACCOMPLISHING what I desire, And WITHOUT SUCCEEDING in the matter for which I sent it.
THIS WILL HAPPEN AFTER THE RAPTURE
