Satan
Who is Satan and where does he come from?
First of all we want to emphasise that Satan is a CREATED being.
He is NOT omnipresent, he can only be in one place at a time.
He is NOT omniscient, he needs a large army of demons to keep him informed about earthly situations.
He is NOT omnipotent, he can only do what God allows him to do.
Satan can NOT give life to a dead body!
There many who teach that the coming ANTICHRIST will be assassinated and Satan will bring him back to life! This is COMPLETELY FALSE TEACHING.
They quote this verse Revelation 13:3 “I saw one of his HEADS AS if it had been SLAIN, and his FATAL WOUND was HEALED. And the whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast;”
First of all it is one of his heads (kingdoms – here it is the Roman Empire) AS if it had been slain (note the words AS IF) and his fatal wound was healed. The Roman Empire was DEFEATED by the Germanics around 476 AD. It looked like a DEADLY WOUND, but the Romans were ONLY defeated but not destroyed. Now it has been raising its head again as if the FATAL WOUND was healed. This has NOTHING to do with the Antichrist who will come from within the 10 kingdoms in which the revived Roman Empire will be divided in and he will be the Little Horn. He will be of the Seven (heads) and will himself be an eighth.
ONLY GOD CAN GIVE LIFE TO A DEAD BODY
ONLY God can give life to a dead body. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the LIFE; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
Jesus (God) is the LIFE.
Job 33:4 “The SPIRIT of God has MADE ME,
And the BREATH of the ALMIGHTY gives me LIFE.”
Satan can enter the body of an unbeliever and make his abode there, just as he did with Judas of Iscariot before Judas betrayed Jesus in the Garden of Gethsamene.
Luke 22:3-4 “And Satan ENTERED into Judas who was called Iscariot, belonging to the number of the twelve. And he went away and discussed with the chief priests and officers how he might BETRAY HIM to them.”
Satan can NOT enter the body of a Born Again Christian. The Holy Spirit abides in a Born Again Christian.
However, Satan can OPPRESS a Born Again Christian if the person yields more to the flesh than to the Holy Spirit.
That doesn’t mean that Satan is not powerful. He is very powerful and we should not past judgement on him but leave that up to GOD. We should just be like the Arch Angel Michael who REBUKED Satan when they were contending for the body of Moses.
Jude 1:9 “But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a railing judgment, but said, “The Lord REBUKE you!” Just a quick side note here. In Michael’s statement we can see the HOLY TRINITY at work. Notice the verb “rebuke” is in plural form and not “rebukes” singular form, “The Lord” here is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. You can spot these GEMS throughout the Scriptures.
Ezekiel 28 tells us that Lucifer (Satan) was created as the Cherub who covers which was a very special being who protected God’s throne and also constantly proclaimed the Glory of God.
